Fisayo Ajala

Fisayo Ajala holds a PhD in Sociology from Stellenbosch University, South Africa. His current research focuses on the Nigerian military widows of the Boko Haram conflict and how they coped and survived in the absence of state support. He has won awards and grants from the Social Science Research Council (SSRC), and the European Research Council (ERC).
His research interests are in the areas of armed forces and society, gender, peace, and security. His articles and book reviews have been published in Armed Forces and Society, African Security, LSE Book Review, African Studies Quarterly, and The Republic: Journal of Nigerian Affairs
