Taiwo Bello is an Assistant Professor of African History at Oklahoma State University. He received PhD in African History from the University of Toronto, with a focus on gender and militarism in the Nigerian Civil War, 1967-1970. He is a specialist in gender and women's history, war and society, violence and conflict studies, Black and diaspora studies, and global and transnational history.
Tuduetso Madi is a PhD in Sociology candidate from Stellenbosch University. Her dissertation is focused on gender integration within the Botswana Defence Force. She was a participant in the Journal for Southern African Studies (JSAS) and the Southern African Institute for Policy and Research Early Career Writing Workshop in 2023. Her research interests are gender and the
military, and peace and security.
Fisayo Ajala holds a PhD in Sociology from Stellenbosch University, South Africa. His current research focuses on the Nigerian military widows of the Boko Haram conflict and how they coped and survived in the absence of state support. He has won awards and grants from the Social Science Research Council (SSRC), and the European Research Council (ERC).
Dr Samuel Oyewole is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the African Centre for the Study of
the United States (ACSUS) and Ocean Regions Programme of the Department of Political Sciences, University of Pretoria, South Africa, and a Lecturer at the Department of Political
Science, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria.
Charles Ekpo holds a bachelor’s degree in history and international studies. He also has a master's degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. He is an assistant lecturer/acting coordinator of the Peace and Conflict Resolution Programme at Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo – Nigeria.
